School Shootings
Welcome back!!! Not exactly a fun nor easy topic but one I think must be discussed. On February 14 a 19 year old former student walked into Stoneman Douglas High School and killed 17 students and teachers. He also injured 14 people. Without any weapons training he was legally able to purchase a Ar-15 semi automatic rifle. A weapon capable of firing 20 shots in 9 seconds. Here's some more facts:

People make jokes all the time about guns and weapons. That is, until it becomes real. The recent school shooting in Florida has reminded the nation about similar instances in the past. The thought of innocent people loosing their lives is devastating and I can only imagine how hard it is for the families of those students. I believe that these incidents keep happening because there is a lot of hate in our world. People target others for all sorts of reasons - competition, jealousy, gossip. The government should more closely regulate weaponry in order to prevent shootings.
ReplyDeleteI think these indidents occurs more than it should, because there aren't enough regulations on gun control. Congrees aren't doing enough to stop the rising conflict that are taking place worldwide around schools. And the N.R.A are ignoring the fact that situations like this are going to remain the same if there aren't any changes. It is absoultey teriffyng to know things like this are still happening with no evidence of change. i am so sad for the families who children where in such a horriffying event that couldve been prevent with the retrictions of guns. and my prayers go out to every family. If congrees not only just increases the age limit but also makes legistations, by eliminate semi automatics and putting retrictions on hand guns in America, I think tragic events like this one can possibly be avoided.
